Fogged Thoughts

Where am I living in this darkness?
Why can’t I find that one guiding light?
What hallucination is my mind carrying?
Just millions of shattered dreams all around me.
Where is that boat sailing?
Why are these waves engulfing me?
What breathlessness am I feeling?
With coldness and numbness surrounding me.
Where are those ringing bells
Why am I not able to listen to those feeble voices?
What is my heart screaming?
Feeling those pins taken out of my body one by one.
Where are the rumors coming from?
Why can’t I find the roots in the wild?
What nakedness am I going to hide?
The world will know one day.

  1. The poem is one of the most beautiful pieces that explain how a lost person feels and simultaneously compares the mental pain with the physical pain that can also be felt by them and their struggles that people don’t see but the change in behaviour that is seen by the people.

The poem beautifully explains the feelings of the person who is feeling lost in their life. They are not able to figure out their feelings and don’t know why they are feeling them. They need a light to guide them through the darkness. Their dreams have been shattered causing them to have hallucinations. They feel like they are drowning and are feeling breathlessness, but don’t know the reason. Their heart is screaming out with pain. They are comparing this pain with physical pain like someone is taking out thousands of pins from their body.
The roots in the poem describe the reason behind their feelings which they are not able to find. The nakedness the poet is talking about to hide represents that they are confused about their feelings and have nothing to hide but still can’t express anything.
The poet cannot express their feelings so is writing about themnd saying that the world will know about them through their poems.
