SECOND CHANCE

I gave it a second chance
To what we say, yes ‘love’
From coming out of a trance
Even if I called it a bluff.

This was different from the past
Ready to give me a fresh start
Just a leap away to catch
But I kept us apart.

Watching him from a distance
Left me hurt and reeling.
Being fearful of the past I witness
Starts the fight of feelings.

The wall protecting my heart
Starts to fall
Showing him all the scar
Result of his patience and his calm.

Clouds of past still surround me
This demon fight drains me
Even then he claims me
Bringing perfection out of imperfection-
That is me.

The choice became harder
As his love conquered every part
And he became my harbor
Last hope for my bleeding heart.

So, I gave love a second chance
My heart welcomed him
Blossoming my died romance
Making me believe in what we say
Yes, ‘love.’
