Something new?

New is scary
Scary is familiar though,
New seems painful
Painful is familiar too,
I know
New is like a pair of shoes
And the scare of a foot bite
New is like a new shirt
That might shrink after the first wash,
New is like the face unknown in a place full of bodies,
New is the empty chair behind you
New is wrong turns,
And forgetting your own address ,
New is not knowing the pharmacy nearby,
New is knowing the dinner is for one,
New is the not knowing,
Of how much you don’t know,
I know
New could be a lot more but for now,
New is not knowing.
