WORLD OF LOVE

Two beautiful souls together,
Lost in themselves altogether,
In each other’s eyes
Their entire world lies,
Her flowing hair
Shades him from all harm and despair,
Her loving arms around him,
Filling his life with her love to the brim.

Their looks meet,
Their smiles sweet,
Lips trembling with passion,
Hearts full of red velvety emotions,
The small love talks,
Quietly the hour walks
Disturbing them not,
As the fastened breaths turned hot.

Kissing and cuddling,
Smiling and melting
Into each other
Without a bother
Of the world around,
Love multiplies in leaps and bounds
Being a part of the entire Universe,
Mingling with the whole cosmos.

Wanting to be in each other’s embrace,
All bad memories they efface
Of people, against the beautiful love of theirs,
To be forever
In each other’s loving care,
Resting on the wooden chair,
They created their own world
Of love, with bundles of love that destiny at then hurls.

  1. Review:

In her poem ‘World of Love’, Madhumita aesthetically captures the passion of love blooming between two people, whom she refers to as “beautiful souls.” The poem containing four stanzas of eight lines each succinctly embraces passionate love. The rhyming couplets, that bring out the fragrance of love spread throughout a human body, perfectly display that beauty of the lovers’ eyes lies not in how they look, but in what they see.

The poem breaks the stereotypical idea of the man being the protector in a relationship, for the poem shows the Lady’s hair shading Him from despair. The following stanza pictures the feelings of the partners during their first meeting wherein the glance at each other’s smiles makes their hearts swell with joy. Eventually, the Universe witnesses the thickening of their relationship. It shows the way in which love transcends physical intimacies.

The phrase “love talks” points at two meanings. One literal meaning is that of the lovely discussions that occur between the couple and the metaphorical meaning is that of the life they live with love that show as if their shared love is talking to the Universe. The capitalization of ‘Universe’ emphasizes its role as a character that acknowledges the love. The whole setting of the poem only involves the lovers, Universe and their own created world.

The concluding lines revert to the title of the poem. In a world of love, each one lives in their own created world.
