कितनी दफ़ा रातें गवां दी,
“माँ” तूने मुझे सुलाने में,

कितनी दफ़ा आँचल भिगा दिया,
“माँ” तूने मुझे चुपाने में,

कितनी दफ़ा छुपा लिया,
“माँ” बुरी नज़र से तूने मुझे बचाने में,

कितनी दफ़ा बचा लिया,
“माँ” गलत राह तूने मुझे जाने में,

कितनी दफ़ा लुटा दिया खुद को,
“माँ” तूने मुझे अमीर बनाने में॥
