अब लोगों में वो पहले जैसी बात कहाँ है,
दिल है पर वो पहले जैसे जज़्बात कहाँ है,

आखिर है कौन यहाँ जो गुनेहगार नहीं है,
सच में सच वो पहले जैसे पहरेदार कहाँ है,

सर के साथ जो दिल झुकाके मिलता था,
महफ़िल में वो पहले जैसी शुरुवात कहाँ है।।
