STILLNESS OF NIGHT

In the stillness of night, the moon takes its place,

Casting its glow upon my lonely face,

A tapestry of stars adorns the darkened sky,

While whispers of solitude gently pass by.

Beneath the celestial canvas, thoughts arise,

Bound by the stillness, where loneliness lies,

The night embraces secrets, hidden and deep,

As souls search for solace, yearning for sleep.

Yet amidst the silence, a connection may bloom,

As the moonlight weaves its magic,

a dispelling gloom,

A reminder that even in darkness,

we’re not alone, For the night sky, a symphony, calls hearts to atone.

  1. The poet, through the lines of this poem, has portrayed the beauty of the night and the contrast between the different emotions it makes a person feel. The darkness of the night makes them feel lonely and alone as the moonlight shines on their face. The stillness and the silence around them bring up unwanted and sad thoughts in the mind of the poet, making them realize how isolated and alone they are.
But at the same time, they find magic in the dark that surrounds them, they find light in the canopy of stars above them. The silence brings them peace, makes their racing thoughts calm down, and slows down their thumping heart. They feel hopeful and await the magic that is bound to happen, the vulnerability during the night making it easier to make a connection.

This poem is an attempt to convey that there is still hope and desire even when there is nothing but darkness surrounding a person. One should never lose hope and give up. They should hold onto their hearts and wait for the bright and beautiful sunset that is about to surround them in a few hours. The dark never lasts forever, but when it is there, one should learn how to find peace in its silence and allow it to soothe their thoughts. Once you see how beautiful the night is, you stop fearing the dark.
