BEAUTY

Oh, what a grief!
Of a cute little girl.
With blue nice eyes,
Hair with curls.

Nothing she has,
A poor little child.
She roams alone,
With a voice so mild.

One winter night,
Alone on a street.
Wearing torn shoes,
And ice-cold feet.

She was too small,
To bear her hunger.
She begged from all,
But she was fed with anger.

She felt very tired,
She slept in the dark.
Next day her body,
Was found from a park.

She died out of cold,
Her face was so pretty,
People thought her name,
Might be BEAUTY.

  1. The poem tells a really touching story of a beautiful young girl who faces extreme hardships and ultimately meets her end tragically. The poem really captivated me from the first stanza, describing the features of the little girl. A rhyme scheme pattern (ABAB) is also followed which gives the poem a nice and continuous flow. The last two stanzas of the poem point to the forthcoming tragedy and last line, which is an assumption that the girl’s name is ‘beauty’, sends a very heartfelt message to the readers and also makes them empathize with the little girl. I would really like to read more of your work, well done!

  2. In this poem, the poet has define the loneliness of a child as well as her innocence.poet creates an imagery in our mind how misfortune has comes in her life which would take her to death. On the other side poet has sweetly define her beauty with typical words like her blue eyes ,curly hairs as well as her voice .So in the last it is concluded that poet deals with reality (poverty) and dreams (her beauty) together.
