Happy Birthday

He sat there staring at her portrait,
Unable to think straight.
Remembering the still fresh memories.
All those moments of joy and misery.

How she held him when he would cry.
Even if he failed a thousand times,
she told him to give it one more try.

Her gentle hugs and tender kisses.
There were so many things he often missed.
How she was always there to guide,
walking hand in hand by his side.

Maybe the day went down like any other day.
The sun rose and had gone to sleep leaving the moon on his night duty.
Leaving him alone with his pain to weep.

Tears streamed down his face
as he remembered how that day his world has fallen apart.
How in just a second he has ended up with a broken heart.

He stood up walking to the window
It’s been over 15 years since she left him,
But no matter how hard he tried
It was impossible to let go.
He remembered her beautiful smile
as he cried.

She was gone and all he could do was stand there
Admiring nature’s beauty
as the trees swayed to the song of the wind.
Under the moon’s duty.

The stars twinkled under the moonlight
making the sky peaceful and bright.

He looked up to the little glowing balls
seemingly chasing each other like Jerry and Tom
He smiled as the clock struck twelve
“Happy birthday mom.

I wish you have stayed a little longer.
I miss you. Hope you are happy up there my angel.”
