Earphones plugged in, sweet melodies carrying the memories like a dove,
There I was, sitting by the window, reminiscing those moments of love,
Escaping into those old robes to get the familiar warmth once more,
There I was, shuffling through those toys that then seemed to be a bore,
Rusted swing-set and broken see-saw adorned the old lawn,
There I was, wondering what it would be like to be like to swing there every dawn,
Excitedly looking out of my cab window for one peek at those school gates,
There I was, trying to catch a glimpse of those classrooms, grounds and mates
Struggling to capture an eternity of love bound by the shackles of time,
There I was, hoping to be reborn and not losing this childhood that was mine…
