Equally Crucial Small Moments

I am constantly stuck between the highs and the lows.
Somedays I find myself calm and happy and full of life,
But, on the other days, I find myself with the wounds from the past opening up before me again
making me feel sick and anxious to a point that I can’t even breathe.
All the hard work to please my parents,
and they still scolded me.
All the sleepless nights just waiting for that one text which never came.
All the self isolated days when feeling loved feels like a dream far gone.
I say sadness keeps me sane and then I cry for not feeling anything.
Life feels burdensome
but I smile looking at dogs and cats which give me relief.
Finding solace in the little moments has always been my go to.
So, if you see a girl laughing while her friends embarrass each other for the infinite time
Or a girl going back home looking at the moon and appreciating it’s light
Smile at her and she’ll also smile at you.
She’ll skip her sadness just for another day.
