There stood a thorn with a purpose so pure,
To lend strength and courage, to endure.
A fallen thorn upon the path,
Its purpose hidden, veiled in wrath,
Yet deep within its thorny frame,
Is a gift, a chance to reclaim.
A weary dim soul came along,
With invisible steps and a broken song,
Seeking attention, seeking aid,
Unaware of the thorn’s charade.
As feet met thorny resistance,
The soul stumbled, lost its balance,
But with each prick, a lesson arose,
A strength ignited, a new path chose.
For the thorn, it did not intend,
To harm or wound, to break or bend,
But in its presence, a test unfurled,
To forge resilience in the weakened world.

The title is appropriate and the poem is beautifully written and the poet made sure to add rhyming scene in its poem but in a few lines I felt that poet lost the rhyming scene and in certain lines I felt the poet could use other words, but overall the poem is very well written and the concept is also beautifully portrayed.

In this setting, we’re introduced to a thorn that signifies a source of both, struggle and strength. Initially, the thorn’s purpose, however pure, is concealed by its supposed bitterness. But as the poem progresses, so does the thorn’s purpose and intent, revealing a chance at personal redemption and growth. By introducing a tired and discouraged soul, who, unaware of the thorn’s nature approaches it for relief, we see that the despondent soul encounters several hardships unintentionally bestowed by the thorn. Each prick from the thorn, though unintended, puts the soul through various trials, which in turn, imparts many valuable lessons to the soul, who gains strength, resilience, and a new drive to direct his future endeavours. Overall, this poem takes us through the metaphorical journey of life, and the path of transformation and empowerment.
